Sentry’s 340Buzz wins 2022 HITMC Blog of the Year award

We put a lot of hard work into our monthly 340Buzz series to share expert insight and important updates with our readers. So it gives us great pleasure to announce that the 340Buzz was named the 2022 Blog of the Year from the Healthcare and IT Marketing Community, or HITMC.

The Buzz won in the Health IT category. The award was announced at the HITMC annual conference last month in Foxborough, Mass.

The 340Buzz is a monthly series that recaps the big developments affecting 340B stakeholders, puts them in perspective and looks ahead to what might be coming. It’s the brainchild of Lisa Scholz, Sentry’s Senior Vice President of Industry Relations.

Scholz, PharmD, MBA, FACHE, brings her considerable knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations, 340B and the political dynamics in Washington D.C. to each month’s installment. Prior to joining Sentry in 2015, Scholz spent three years as chief operating officer and senior vice president at 340B Health, a nonprofit membership and advocacy organization. She also worked in leadership roles at the American Pharmacists Association, where she worked closely with the federal agency Health Resources and Services Administration and its Office of Pharmacy Affairs, which oversees the 340B program.

Scholz began her career as a retail pharmacist and later oversaw inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory pharmacy operations for a large health system in her hometown of Houston. In her current role, she frequently speaks at industry conferences and meets with federal officials, members of Congress and state lawmakers to discuss the importance of 340B. She also educates The Craneware Group and partners on how customers are affected by current events.

“I’m proud of this award and grateful to be recognized for the 340Buzz,” Scholz said. “The blog is another way I’m able to give back to my profession and help covered entities stay prepared at a time when the program faces unprecedented challenges from the pharmaceutical industry and its allies. Only by staying informed and unified can we maintain a robust safety net that provides patients affordable access to medications and other healthcare services.”

The 340Buzz dates to August 2017, when we launched the series with an overview of the stakes of 340B for rural hospitals.
