Marketing Specialist, Digital and Graphic Design

Position summary

The Marketing Specialist relies on a combination of creative, strategic and project management skills to research, brainstorm, recommend, develop, oversee and measure marketing efforts designed to reach specific audiences and achieve specific goals. This position will manage tasks related to collateral across all marketing and communications channels for both new and existing customers, which requires leveraging brand standards, product/industry knowledge and applicable technologies as needed as well as developing strong relationships with key internal customers. In addition, the individual should have multidisciplinary experience to ensure success within a highly collaborative department culture.

Individual roles within the team include: communications (customer); communications (sales); tradeshows and events; operations; and digital and graphic design.

Position description

  • Research target audiences, key competitors and current industry trends
  • Solicit and brainstorm campaign ideas and concepts to determine the tactics best suited to reach the defined audience and meet the campaign objectives
  • Participate in the development of strategic marketing plans, including objectives and tactics
  • Develop, edit, produce and/or deliver on-brand marketing content related to Sentry business for both prospective and current customers via emails, newsletters, brochures, presentations, website and other methods
  • Direct the work of marketing agencies and vendors as needed
  • Manage editorial calendar(s), project timelines and budgets
  • Measure and report on campaign results and recommend future improvements
  • Leverage appropriate marketing technology and automation tools used by Sentry, including WordPress, Salesforce.com, SharePoint and others specific to the role
  • Perform administrative tasks necessary to manage projects

Digital and graphic design responsibilities

  • Serve as primary resource for 1) all digital marketing channels, including corporate website, email, social and paid media such as PPC and SEO, as well as 2) all graphic design for sales and customer collateral
  • Lead, execute and analyze digital/online marketing and social networking efforts across various platforms, optimizing content using industry best practices and leveraging Google Analytics and Google AdWords as required
  • Work with sales and account management teams to plan and implement opportunities
  • Create sales and customer collateral using Adobe Creative Suite, championing brand guidelines, graphic design principles and copy/style guide recommendations with each piece
  • Assist with business development presentations by building creative and effective PowerPoint decks that tell a story with photography, infographics, typography and other visual design elements

Qualifications / requirements

  • Bachelor of arts degree in marketing or equivalent combination of related experience; marketing or agency experience preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in a hands-on role responsible for creating, producing, executing, measuring and optimizing marketing communications and/or programs, such as email campaigns, sales collateral, trade shows, websites and landing pages
  • Strong communication and writing skills, particularly across sales and marketing disciplines
  • Impeccable attention to detail and process
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple timelines and budgets
  • Strong problem-solving skills and creative, high positive energy with a demonstrated ability to execute all materials according to brand guidelines
  • Excels in a highly collaborative environment but able to manage own workload and meet deadlines
  • Able to establish and maintain professional working relationships with all levels of staff, clients and the public
  • Willingness to be part of a team-unit and cooperate in the accomplishment of departmental goals and objectives
  • Experience with HTML email and web design and/or editing a plus
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Experience with content management systems, SharePoint, Salesforce.com and WordPress
  • Experience with marketing automation tools such as Pardot, Marketo or eTrigue
  • This position requires up to 10% travel, outside the local area and overnight
