Contract Pharmacy Account Analyst

Position summary:

The Account Analyst is responsible for performing the analysis and documentation of unique pharmacy partner requests which do not directly translate to standard application functionality. In this role, the incumbent will support the department by ensuring that findings, reports and requirements are well understood, clearly documented, and communicated to the key stakeholders.

The Account Analyst is responsible for providing support to Sentry Data Systems’ 340B qualified hospitals (covered entities) or contracted pharmacy partners. In this position, the Account Analyst is responsible for owning and cultivating strong client relationships with existing contract pharmacy partners to drive contract pharmacy partner satisfaction, value, retention and penetration.  This role will help ensure that the contract pharmacy partner/client is receiving considerable value from our services and continuously understand and track specific and measurable adoption and ROI goals.  In depth understanding of Sentry products and services coupled with strong understanding of the business environment, strategy, needs and direction of assigned contract pharmacy partners to create solutions for the contract pharmacy partner by leveraging existing, upgraded or new Sentry products and services. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with both technical staff and contract pharmacy partners on projects.

Position description:

  • Review and assess contract pharmacy partners’ progress and offer recommendations based on results
  • Define business, savings and other key objectives with the contract pharmacy partner and develop a strategic direction for long-term success and adoption
  • Act as point-of-contact for assigned contract pharmacy partners, advocating for their interests and giving voice to their feedback
  • Ensure highest contract pharmacy partner satisfaction and return on investment while enhancing contract pharmacy partner experience
  • Attend conferences and actively participate in conference exhibitions
  • Establish a clear plan to convert contract pharmacy partners to be references for Sentry
  • Follow up activities to drive contract pharmacy partner satisfaction through solution development with appropriate internal Sentry resources and trouble ticket monitoring
  • Represent Sentry at select trade shows and user conferences; remain current on in-depth knowledge of Sentry products, services, competitors and business environment to enable both expert representation and lead retention and renewals
  • Identify and stratify opportunity areas for contract pharmacy partners or pharmacy partners, and conduct research to help determine root causes as well as the best course of action to improve quality and/or profitability
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • In collaboration with others, develop and maintain databases and data systems necessary for projects and department functions
  • Acquire and abstract primary or secondary data from existing internal or external data sources
  • In collaboration with others, develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality
  • Execute on functional and analytic assessment and project requirements:
    • Conduct quantitative and qualitative interviews
    • Perform departmental shadowing and observations
    • Perform process and data analysis
    • Provide guidance for establishing process, staffing, and system improvements
  • Create and maintain consulting and analytic standards, considerations, methodologies, and controls
  • In collaboration with others, interpret data and develop recommendations based on findings.
  • Develop graphs, reports, and presentations of project results
  • Perform basic statistical analyses for projects and reports
  • Generate routine and ad hoc reports
  • Lead regular reviews (e.g., Annual Business Reviews, etc.) with contract pharmacy partners regarding their milestones, adoption, contract pharmacy partner metrics, key goals, CSAT and engage other areas of the SentryOne team as needed
  • Performs other duties that drive overall contract pharmacy partner success, engagement and adoption as assigned

Qualifications / requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, technology or related fields; or equivalent combination of related experience
  • Experience with customer service and account management, in the healthcare field.
  • Minimum three years of experience in pharmacy and/or hospital environment highly recommended
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare/hospital environment and/or 340B Program preferred
  • Good oral/written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with clean record
  • Bachelor’s in business, economics, information management, healthcare information, computing, mathematics, statistics, or equivalent combination of related experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to understand and generate complex process flows for assigned projects
  • Candidate should be able to explain their role in the success of past projects
  • Experience with SQL is preferred
  • Possess strong Excel skills
  • Aptitude for rapidly acquiring process improvement and subject matter expertise
  • Basic understanding of healthcare supply chain, clinical operations and revenue cycle preferred
  • Fast learner, able to understand new products/features and business objectives quickly
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with all levels of staff, contract pharmacy partners or pharmacy partners , and the public
  • Adept at building productive cross-departmental relationships
  • Ability to work with minimal daily supervision
  • Willingness to be part of a team-unit and cooperate in the accomplishment of departmental goals and objectives

  • This position requires up to 40% travel, outside the local area and overnight
