Chief Analytics Officer

Position summary

The Chief Analytics Officer (CAO) will deliver strategic leadership for Sentry’s Data and Analytics (Agilum) business by defining the commercial path to growth and profitability of the organization and the establishment of an effective growth process for business development opportunities. The CAO will lead a team responsible for conceptualizing and implementing a consolidated enterprise strategy for leveraging data and analytics to provide a long-term competitive advantage by building a commercialization infrastructure to drive market adoption of the company’s products. The CAO is a corporate officer reporting directly to the CEO.

Position description

  • Provide direct leadership and financial accountability for our data and analytics business
  • Responsible for commercialization, pricing and go-to-market strategies for new products as well as existing data and analytics products, focusing on revenue growth, P & L and data services
  • Identify new market opportunities
  • Provide a world class customer experience for Sentry’s data and analytics customers
  • Create an analytics vision unique to Sentry and provide the overall leadership for the development and implementation of data and analytics solutions as a key component of the organization’s growth strategy
  • Design strategies to monetize Sentry’s unique longitudinal clinical data and the valuable research insights it provides
  • Test and roll out a series of revenue/margin generating programs and deliver strong EBITDA results
  • Drive value through identifying business opportunities and creating strong business cases led by data.
  • Develop collaborative working relationships within the organization and provide analytics-driven contracting guidance to senior leaders while educating on the value of world-class analytics
  • Drive and guide the collaboration of enterprise initiatives to ensure the data warehousing and reporting supports the analytics to make data driven business decisions
  • Monitor and analyze technology and business intelligence trends and conducts internal and external benchmarking assessments; analyze, recommend and implement approved counter measures
  • Mentor, coach and develop a team that provides advanced analytics support
  • Collaborate with cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and strategic business goals in a manner consistent with organizational policies and values
  • Perform other duties as necessary to support company objectives

Qualifications / requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business, healthcare administration or other relevant field; advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive data insights, governance, administration, design, analytics and business intelligence experience in roles of increasing complexity
  • Business Unit P & L responsibility
  • 10+ years of demonstrated management experience with strategic thinking and strong abilities in relationship management
  • Proven experience establishing and implementing transformational change within a growing environment
  • Expert knowledge of the new technology landscape – Big Data, AI, Advanced Analytics
  • Extensive experience leading large, complex technology projects, including strategic and tactical planning and implementation, analysis, design, package selection and deployment
  • Experience working hands on with large data sets and developing insights that drive business strategy
  • Must be focused on continually delivering value to Sentry
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
  • Requires dynamic leadership ability that can develop and energize cross-functional multidiscipline, high-performance work teams to learn and apply new skills/techniques to business needs, as well as demonstrated ability to influence people at a variety of levels internally and externally
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, launch and deliver multiple projects/processes across the business division within budget, on time, and to meet quality and client satisfaction metrics
  • This position will manage employees of their department and responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees
  • This position requires up to 25% travel outside the local area and overnight
