Auburn Community Hospital selects Sentry Data Systems’ Analytics and 340B solutions

Launches ambitious strategy to transform clinical and financial performance

Sentry Data Systems, a leader in 340B compliance and advanced healthcare analytics solutions, announced recently that Auburn Community Hospital (ACH), a not-for-profit, 99-bed, acute care facility serving a population of approximately 80,000 in the Auburn, New York, area, has selected Sentry’s healthcare analytics, 340B compliance and drug procurement solutions to help transform the hospital’s clinical and financial performance.

ACH expects to gain efficiencies by integrating Sentry’s comprehensive suite of solutions, including Agilum Service Line Costing and Profitability (SLCP), Sentinel 340B compliance & drug procurement, and Sentrex 340B contract pharmacy management.

ACH has dedicated significant resources to facilitate the transition to value-based care through detailed analysis of cost, quality and productivity trends and outliers. However, they realized they lacked the true data transparency and near real-time data required to make immediate and actionable changes. Sentry’s Agilum SLCP solution in particular will enable the hospital to access its data in near real-time and analyze critical quality, volume, cost and margin metrics within each of its service lines.

According to ACH’s CFO, Jason Lesch, “We have made great progress in our financial reporting during the two years I have been here. Sentry’s data analytics software is the next step in this process. Our hospital is very good at addressing issues when we know what they are. The problem has been the time it takes to identify them. It is very easy in a community hospital to lose a significant amount of money in a short period of time. It is much more difficult to do the opposite.”
