Mandatory process for all 340B hospitals must be completed
by Sept. 10
All hospitals with an active 340B ID as of July 1 are required to recertify to maintain their 340B eligibility. Failure to recertify annually will result in removal from the program. Hospitals are also asked to decertify any sites that have closed or are no longer participating in the program.
Earlier this week, HRSA sent emails containing the user name, password and link required for the recertification process to the authorizing official listed for each covered entity in the Office of Pharmacy Affairs (OPA) database. This user name and password is required for recertification.
Additional communications regarding recertification will be sent to both the authorizing official and to the person listed in the 340B database as the hospital’s primary contact (often the director of pharmacy), so be on the lookout for these updates.
