340B recertification process now underway for Sept. 13 deadline

All hospital types participating in the 340B program must complete the second annual recertification process by Sept. 13, 2013.  Hospitals are required to provide detail attesting that they and their outpatient sites are properly listed in the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Office of Pharmacy Affairs’ (OPA) 340B database and that they follow all 340B program requirements. Failure to recertify will result in removal from the program.

SNHPA reports that emails were sent from HRSA to hospital primary contacts on August 16 to provide advance notification of the recertification process. On August 19, a second email containing the user name and password required to complete the online process will be sent to the hospitals’ authorizing officials.

Sentry encourages all clients to begin their recertification process and to be on the look out for these emails. Hospitals should follow the Database Guide to Recertification and adhere to the Sept. 13, 2013 deadline to maintain 340B eligibility.

Questions regarding the recertification process may be directed to the 340B Prime Vendor Program at ApexusAnswers@340bpvp.com or 1-888-340-2787. Hospitals will need their 340B ID number when they call.
