Update on 340B and Healthcare ReformTuesday, December 29, 2009 Currently, the Senate version of the Health Care Reform bill includes provisions to allow the use of 340B drugs in the Inpatient setting of Disproportionate Share Hospitals. In order to take advantage of this new opportunity, hospitals will be required to provide specific new reporting to Medicaid for the drugs (including 11 digit NDC and actual acquisition cost information) administered to their respective patients. This type of detailed reporting of the inpatient environment is well beyond the current scope of 340B and traditional “split-billing” software, and underscores the importance of having a healthcare intelligence application that provides an auditable record. Sentry Data Systems follows healthcare legislation closely. We’ve made sure that Sentinel RCM is currently configured to provide you the essential reporting and compliance requirements necessary to meet the demands of this new legislation so you can continue benefitting from 340B without missing a beat. |
Our Philosophies |
Simplify the ComplicatedOur products are built to provide you information as you need it, when you need it, and supply the underlying detail as you want it. 340B is a very detailed, complicated regulation that involves many different areas of the healthcare delivery environment. Our products take this challenge, simplify it and fit into your existing processes while simplifying your workflow across the board. |
Not-for-Profit Hospitals Increase Savings with “Own Use” PricingNot-for-profit hospitals are permitted to use GPO priced medications for their own employees and patients, and over 10 other eligible categories, but the operational challenges often mean this cost saving benefit goes unrealized. Our solutions automate the incorporation of Own Use pricing and provide all the necessary compliance tracking for both programs. |
